The responsibilities of the MPE within the Euclid mission are focused on instrument development, on the Euclid Science Ground Segment and the determination of photometric redshifts within the Operational Unit OU-PHZ.
At MPE we offer a position working on the spectroscopic calibration of photometric redshifts within the OU-PHZ pipeline and exploiting scientifically the coming Euclid dataset, with focus on local galaxies and galaxy evolution. The candidate is expected to engage actively in one or several of the Euclid Science Working Groups.
All applicants should have a University degree in Astronomy or Physics. We presume good communication skills in the English language, the ability and willingness to work in an experienced and highly motivated multi-national team and the availability to participate to meetings and workshops in various locations in Europe.
