EMBL Grenoble is seeking to recruit a Unit Laboratory Manager to support our dynamic, interdisciplinary, and international community, where cutting-edge research in biochemistry, cellular, structural and molecular biology is performed.
This position is key to ensure excellent productivity of research labs, maximal operativity of shared scientific equipment, and smooth and efficient communication with the administrative and research staff. The Unit Laboratory Manager and her/his team will work closely with Facility Managers and Laboratory Support Staff of each research group, and with the Health and Safety Officer. The Unit Laboratory Manager will report directly to the Head of EMBL Grenoble Unit.
The Unit Laboratory Manager will provide and manage support of the wet-lab activities of EMBL Grenoble. From preparation of basic buffers to the sterilization of bacteria cell culture and labware. As well as the logistics of plasticware consumables.
The Unit Laboratory Manager and their team will further contribute to emerging needs of EMBL Grenoble to maintain a competitive, proficient, state-of-the-art scientific environment, also by ensuring efficient communication and logistic support to all scientists of the Unit, and serve as an interface between EMBL's service departments (building maintenance, scientific instrument maintenance, workshops, and core facilities) and the research Groups.
