This postdoctoral position will focus on data integration and building a database of molting characteristics, which will form the basis of much of the research project. The postdoc will supervise and be in charge of the scientific aspects of the database, working with a programmer who will be in charge of the software development aspects. They will work with other team members on subprojects examining phylogenomics and expression patterns of molting genes and pathways, and molting adaptations to terrestrialisation. In addition to the interdisciplinary project, the postdoc will be a member of the Evolutionary bioinformatics group and interact closely with group members working on database development, especially the Bgee database, and on other projects of bioinformatics study of Evo-Devo.
The person will participate in the life of the Department of Ecology and Evolution (internal and external seminars, journal clubs, etc), one of the largest and most active of Europe. They will also be a member of the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics.
The postdoc will participate in some undergraduate and/or masters teaching, in English or in French; they will have the opportunity to supervise master students.
The research project will be defined together with the group leader based on the Postdoc interests and competences in the fields of bioinformatics and evolutionary biology. Most of their time will be dedicated to research, but a contribution to teaching is expected, including the possibility of supervising master students.
