For the expansion of our research team in Leuven we are currently looking for a: RESEARCH SCIENTIST - ORGANIC/MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY IN VIROLOGY.
We are currently looking for a research scientist in medicinal chemistry with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in small molecule synthesis to support our activities in the field of virology in the context of the VirusBank Platform. More specifically, the candidate is expected to take responsibility for the selection and acquisition of compound libraries which will be used to screen for new antivirals and will be involved in antiviral hit compound identification. After establishment of the VirusBank Platform, the candidate will be involved in antiviral drug discovery programs, where he/she will be expected to perform medicinal chemistry and synthesize, purify and analyze new organic small molecules within a project in order to delineate and/or improve SAR and ADMETproperties with attention to IP. Growth to a senior or project lead position will be possible and also extension to other disease areas is foreseeable in the future.
