RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • conducting scientific research necessary for the development of chemical sciences in the scope of physical chemistry with particular emphasis on the physical chemistry of condensed phases;
  • teaching classes in the 1st cycle or 2nd cycle studies for the programmes conducted by the faculty;
  • publishing research results in journals scoring 100 points or more on the list of the Ministry of Education and Science;
  • popularization of research results and participation in the scientific conferences in the country and abroad;
  • participation in research projects financed from the national sources and organizations from abroad;
  • undertaking the activities aimed at acquisition of research projects;
  • carrying out organizational tasks for the faculty and the University arising from Regulations of the University of Silesia.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD degree or higher degree in chemical sciences or in the related discipline;
  • experience in conducting research in the discipline of chemical sciences documented by publications included in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR);
  • current high scoring scientific achievement in chemical sciences in the scope of physical chemistry of condense phases indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, including publications as the first author or correspondence author;
  • experience in realization of research projects in the country and international projects, documented history of applying for financing of research in the institutions in the candidate’s country and abroad;
  • documented international research activity confirmed by publications as a co-author;
  • documented scientific internship in the candidate’s country or abroad;
  • knowledge of research methods connected with examining physicochemical properties of the condensed systems for energy exchange and storage including the acoustic phases;
  • ability to write scientific publications in English.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ability to use software e.g. Statistica, MS Office, Origin, ChemSketch;
  • experience in laboratory work, ability to operate the equipment used in the scope of physical chemistry;
  • presentation of minimum 2 letters of recommendation;
  • ability to operate in a research team;
  • readiness to take up the role of the leader of a research team confirmed by the scientific development plan;
  • readiness for scientific mobility;
  • readiness to share one’s knowledge and experience with others;
  • readiness for cooperation with the industry by participation in projects financed by NCBiR and/or by active participation in acquisition of such projects;
  • experience in teaching classes in the higher education institution, including classes conducted using the tools for distance learning;
  • knowledge of Polish or readiness to learn Polish (in the case of foreign candidates).
