Job description

You will be joining the Mechanical Design Office in a major Aerospace company as an Aerospace CATIA Design Engineer on a VIE contract. Responsible for maintaining a high degree of CAD competence for existing civilian aircrafts programs and new developments.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Verification and validation of existing 2D and 3D models (Quality Checks, Interface Point Management…) for Cabin systems and/or Aerostructure;
  • Production of drawings, models, assembly models, Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Notes, emails, memos related to the Configured items for the allocated project(s) to cost and schedule as delegated by the Lead Design Engineer;
  • Ensure all outputs from the Mechanical Design Office are correct to the project requirements, checklists & CATIA procedures;
  • Contribute to the process of releasing drawings, BOM's & ECO's related to the allocated project;
  • Able to work autonomously on design tasks;
  • Integration of new technologies (Data Science, Cloud computing, 3D automation…) into Aerospace core business;
  • User support (2nd and 3rd level) for PLM processes, methods and tools;
  • Support in project management topics and direct reporting to end-customers.

Experience & skills

  • Working knowledge and experience of CATIA V5 and/or 3Dexperience (V6);
  • German speaker (B2-C1 level required);
  • Strong Engineering & technical background including working knowledge of GD&T (Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and DFM (Design for Manufacture);
  • Practical understanding of Design solutions;
  • International and team player mindset with a willingness to learn.
