ELIXIR is seeking a Scientific Officer to drive stakeholder engagement, document the landscape and identify key requirements relevant for the continued successful implementation of ELIXIR's federated infrastructure for access to human genomics and translational data.
This is an exciting opportunity to become involved in many large, multi-million Euro research projects that are transforming the way that human genomic health data is managed across Europe and drive scientific collaborations that improve the health of citizens.
Within this role you will join the dynamic and international Human Genomics and Translational Data (HGTD) team at the ELIXIR Hub in Hinxton, UK. Your main purpose will be to coordinate project activities and effectively engage with stakeholders. It is critical to gather and ensure requirements from each group are incorporated into an ELIXIR-wide comprehensive approach to the management, archival, access, and analysis of sensitive human data consented for reuse in scientific research across Europe.
You will contribute to externally funded projects, in particular the EU funded HealthyCloud project (https://healthycloud.eu/) to drive the strategic agenda of stakeholders to deliver recommendations for a federated cloud infrastructure that is strongly aligned with the FAIR data principles. As well as working on tasks within project Work Packages, you will also develop the stakeholder landscape more generally along with other research infrastructures and key partners. You will also have the opportunity to work on tasks in other projects that will move towards implementation of stakeholder requirements in this rapidly developing field.
Reporting to ELIXIR's Head of HGTD you will develop ELIXIR's portfolio of projects in this area and participate actively in the development and promotion of best practices within ELIXIR.
