Job description

Human Technopole is looking for a Manager for the Genomic Technologies Developmental Unit for the Centre of Genomics, Functional Genomics Program. The Centre is focused in developing and applying new technologies to broadly understand gene regulation, with particular focus on the role of non-coding genome and long non-coding RNAs in the human and mammalian genomes. She/he will have responsibilities selected from below:

Develop and optimize novel genomics technologies for the mission of the Centre in discussion with other groups/projects following the priorities of the Centre and Human Technopole.

Focus on development of technologies to map interactomes biological regulation in cells, including as example the genome in 3D, the interactome of RNA/RNA, RNA/Chromatin and RNA binding proteins, imaging and related omics areas, moving towards miniaturization and ideally single cells.

Standardization of technologies for quantitative measurements of biological phenomena, to develop in highly parallelized, multiomics assays.

Organize and supervise personnel in the Centre involved in development of technologies/projects.

Job requirements

  • Considerable seniority in area of main responsibilities, with particular emphasis on functional genomics and genomics technologies with proven experience in technologies development and applications. Broad knowledge of molecular biology techniques;
  • Proven record to scale up genomics operations;
  • Broad knowledge of genomics, genes and genomes regulation, gene regulatory elements (promoters, enhancers) and lncRNAs and their biology, lncRNA/protein interactions, cell interactomes and all aspects related to exploration of biological regulation;
  • Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and to work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to lead and gain the assistance and cooperation of others in a team endeavour;
  • Ability to build trust through operating with transparency and creating an open and positive environment;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
