Nova specializes in numerical modeling and simulation of clinical trials for biotech and pharmaceutical companies, academic research centers and non-proft organizations.

We help our clients unleash the potential of combining math, computer science and biology to reduce the risks associated with R&D of new treatments for the beneft of patients.

Leveraging years of experience in in-silico modelling and the collaborative work of our team of biologists, doctors, clinicians, mathematicians and computer scientists we are currently building our Jinkō SaaS platform. Our vision is to make it the frst integrated clinical trials simulation platform, combining powerful knowledge management, modeling and simulation tools dedicated to the medical research community.

Technology-wise this platform is based on a modern stack (Haskell, Python, NodeJS, VueJS) and it has been designed from the ground up with a modular approach where components are self-contained, stateless, and operate under strict adherence to the Separation of Concerns paradigm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You are curious about sciences, eager to continuously learn and use modern web technologies;
  • You are energetic, self-directed and self-motivated, able to build and sustain long-term relationships with clients and colleagues;
  • You are eager to work with a team of innovation enthusiasts in various fields of expertise: beside skilled biostatisticians in your field, you will also work along with biologists, data programmers and applied math engineers;
  • You have experience in programming and a good knowledge in statistical methodology;
  • You are familiar with biological/medical databases (eg. CDISC format);
  • You will assist biomodelers by analyzing real-life and simulated data, by writing statistical analysis plans, by working on model validation, or by writing statistical reports;
  • You will work with developers to integrate statistical tools in the Jinkō platform and in a R package;
  • You will perform a scientifc watch to look for best suited approaches to solve statistical problems;
  • You will work on standard operating procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

An engineer’s degree or equivalent with:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • Strong background in applied statistical with strong knowledge in clinical trials, biology and/or pharmaceutical sciences;
  • Experience in the design of experiment and analysis plans (Ex. factorial experimental design);
  • Experience in model validation;
  • Knowledge of drug development;
  • A professional English level (written and oral).

TECHNOLOGIES & LANGUAGES

We are looking for someone who knows most of the following programming languages and statistical approaches or is eager to learn/work with them:

  • Generalized linear models;
  • R/Python;
  • Time to event models;
  • Versioning tools/Git;
  • Feature selection;
  • Linux/Bash-scripting;
  • Classifcation algorithms;
  • Software release process;
  • Data visualization;
  • Scientifc writing.
