The core tasks of an Assistant Professor are in teaching and research. In the tenure track appointment, 50% of the time will be for research, while the teaching load will (maximally) take up the other 50% of time. Teaching will be at the graduate (MSc.), the undergraduate (BSc.) level, or in one of the executive programs the ABS offers. Research efforts should focus on publishing in international top-tier journals and conferences, especially in the fields of operations research and computer science.
Applicants should have (or be very near completion of) a PhD by the start date. Candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence in research and teaching, and a commitment to university service. We are particularly interested in candidates with a PhD in one of the areas that lies at the intersection of operations research (statistics/mathematics) and computer science.
