The Human Technopole is looking for a Lab Manager for the Centre for Genomics – Functional Programme.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and maintaining the wet lab infrastructure of the centre. This includes sample handling, next-generation sequencing, single-cell profiling, molecular biology, nucleic acids manipulations and tissue culture. Specifically, the Lab Manager will be part of a group of specialised technical posts that will perform cell and tissue collection, flow cytometry and cell sorting, nucleic acid preparation, multi-omic profiling, single-cell sequencing, genome editing and potentially imaging data generation (histopathology and immunohistochemistry) within the Centre. Besides lab management duties, the candidate will also be directly involved in the generation of sequencing data from various types of libraries from human and model systems.
The group will rely on bioinformatics support from core posts and will work closely with the computational members of the centre, as well as other centres of HT. Data generation will be supported by the Genomics Core Facility of HT, with which the Centre for Genomics will interact on a day-to-day basis.
A key mission of the role will be to enable members of the centre for make use of its experimental infrastructure. The lab manager will also be expected to ensure that the experimental work within the centre is state-of-the-art and will contribute to the development of new protocols and the rapid standardization/implementation of new technologies. They will also be involved in the recruitment, training and mentoring of staff.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of the Centre for Genomics – Functional Programme.
