The Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences is a state-run university of applied sciences, serving a total of approximately 3,000 students. Deputy Professorship (W 2) (f/m/d) for the subject Tourism Management (ref. CTM 03)
We are looking for a highly-qualified person (f/m/d) capable of teaching and researching in the areas of business and tourism (especially tourism management and business, cruise management) in English, as well as German, in the Bachelor Degree Programme "Cruise Tourism Management (Seetouristik)". You have in-depth specialist knowledge and proven experience in the areas of general business administration and process and operations management in tourism, preferably in sea tourism, which you have acquired in a responsible position in the tourism industry or in related professional fields. An engagement in the further development of the course offer "Cruise Tourism Management" in cooperation with the tourism industry is desired.
Lecturing includes supervising student projects, theses, internships and semester- abroad phases. Moreover, successful candidates are expected to participate in the activities of the university's self-governing bodies, whilst demonstrating a continuous commitment to: the continuity and improvement of our teaching and student-support services, the maintenance and development of national and international, professional and academic, networks, as well as the acquisition of external /third-party funding.
Apart from meeting the general and formal conditions for appointment as a civil-servant, the following is required:
Excellent written and spoken English, as well as the ability and willingness to offer courses in the English language are required.
A relocation of primary residence to the university's location or anywhere within the region of the federal state of Bremen is encouraged and expected.
