The Human Technopole is looking for a Lab Manager of the Data Generation and Experimental Validation unit of the Centre for Computational Biology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, coordinating and maintaining the wet lab infrastructure of the centre. This includes next-generation sequencing, single-cell profiling, imaging and tissue culture. Specifically, the Lab Manager will be part of a group of specialised technical posts that will perform tissue collection, multi-omic profiling, single-cell sequencing, genome editing and imaging data generation (histopathology and immunohistochemistry) within the Centre. Besides lab management duties, the candidate will also be directly involved in the generation of sequencing data from human samples and model systems.
The group will rely on bioinformatics support from core posts and will work closely with the computational members of the centre, as well as other centres of HT. Data generation will be supported by the Genomics Core Facility of HT, with which the Centre for Computational Biology will interact on a day-to-day basis.
A key mission of the role will be to enable members of the centre for make use of its experimental infrastructure. The lab manager will also be expected to ensure that the experimental work within the centre is state-of-the-art and will contribute to the development of new protocols and the rapid standardization/implementation of new technologies. They will also be involved in the recruitment, training and mentoring of staff.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of the Centre for Computational Biology, Prof Andrea Sottoriva.
