Position Summary:

The Senior Account Manager, Sales, Biologics is responsible for developing and executing customer account strategies that lead to increased sales, profit, and market share growth consistent with the account potential. This position requires a highly sophisticated understanding of the customer’s business strategies and needs. The job holder communicates and executes account strategies that will outperform competitors and position West for sustained success by delivering value-generating solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for positioning and selling all of West’s products and services to achieve ambitious revenue growth and profit expansion growth goals;
  • Responsible for proposing strategic account plans connected to our Enterprise growth strategy and execute those plans after approval;
  • Responsible for management and growth of large, complex global accounts. Leads multi-disciplinary teams and leverages West’s senior leadership to work on improvement opportunities;
  • Establishes relationships at all levels of the customer, including leading the dialogue with senior executives and key decision makers;
  • Develops and gains agreement internally and externally on compelling deal structures, matching customer and West’s long-term strategic objectives. These deals are generally highly complex involving multiple products, business units, geographies and represents the highest growth potential for West;
  • Anticipates, identifies and interprets markets trends and internal customer issues that may influence a customer's and West’s priorities, strategies, tactics and business approaches. Remains current on competitor’s, technology and regulatory issues to keep West and the customer at the industry's cutting edge;
  • Accountable for identifying, influencing, motivating and managing global cross functional teams to develop and execute customer specific growth strategies;
  • Responsible for developing dashboards and business process measurements to monitor and improve key performance criteria;
  • Proposes appropriate customer specific pricing strategies in consultation with Global Key Account Team members and the Commercial Product Development and Sales Operations groups;
  • Projects credible executive image with polish and poise. Handles questions well in highly visible and adversarial situations;
  • Responsible for keeping all forecasts, funnel information, account plans, customer contact lists and trip reports in Chronicle and other administrative requirements up to date;
  • Negotiates complex, multi-year development and supply agreements;
  • Acts as an advocate and key trusted advisor to their customer, providing consultative, strategic insight that assists in the attainment of customer's goals;
  • Understands the different business cultures across the regions and responds appropriately.

Your Qualification:

  • Bachelor's in Science, Marketing or related. MBA preferred;
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development or related in a business to business international manufacturing organization, preferably in the life sciences or chemical industries;
  • Experienced in developing and implementing new and innovative approaches to the sales process, including negotiation of sales and service terms, and approaches to account management and utilization of resources;
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate networks, lead change and influence;
  • Established business savvy and has established strategic direction and driven high level complex execution of key initiatives;
  • Excellent English language skills are a must. French language skills would be a plus;
  • International travel up to 50%.
