Human Technopole (HT) is a research organization based in Milan (Italy) with a focus on human biology in health and disease. An independent foundation created and supported by the Italian government, HT consists of several Research Centres that will work together to enable collaborative, interdisciplinary research. HT intends to create an open, collaborative environment that will help promote life science research both nationally and internationally.
The Centre for Analysis, Decisions, and Society (CADS) at HT is an initiative being set up in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano that will combine data science, big data analysis and decision sciences as applied to public health and healthcare, including both social and economic aspects of the these. The goals of CADS are twofold: data from multiple heterogeneous sources will be integrated and combined to 1) study the possibility of providing tools to support the medical system and 2) inform and evaluate the impact of health policy decisions.
We are seeking talented early career researchers to establish an independent research programme in an area related to the goals of CADS – including, but not limited to, statistical learning/modelling, medical statistics, clinical or environmental epidemiology, population health, health management and health economics. The ideal candidates will likely come from the fields of computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, statistics and socio-economic sciences and will have experience in studying different aspects of health systems. They will be carrying out high-quality, internationally competitive research and be active contributors to the international scientific community.
CADS will be one of several Research Centres at HT that will work synergistically. The others are focused mainly on biomolecular aspects of disease mechanism and will emphasize computational methods as applied to data analysis in diverse fields. Alongside their colleagues from other HT Research Centres, the CADS Group Leaders will contribute collegially to the development of HT as a whole.
