The aim of the project is to produce cyanobacterial strains with tunable growth rate, improved stress and end product tolerance and new vectors for constructing expression strains. In practice the work will include construction of Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 mutant strains and testing properties of the constructed strains.
The candidate should hold a PhD degree and have a strong background in molecular biology. Working experience in molecular biology laboratory including good knowledge of cloning and gene expression techniques is required. Previous working experience with cyanobacteria is an advantage. Excellent skills in English, both written and oral, are required. There will be a six-month trial period in the contract.
