The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Heidelberg University invites applications for a Tenure-track Professorship (W1 with Tenure Track to W3) in Experimental Physics.
Candidates are expected to develop a strong research program in low energy precision measurements at the boundaries of particle physics and atomic physics. Subject areas could be EDM or axion searches or tests of fundamental symmetries, but are not limited to these. We particularly seek candidates who are interested in small or medium scale experiments exploiting dedicated technologies. The position aims to complement our efforts in the area of precision tests of the Standard Model. It will be located at the Physikalisches Institut and embedded in the active research environment in experimental and theoretical particle physics and atomic physics, both at Heidelberg University and the Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik (MPIK).
In accordance with Section 51 Landeshochschulgesetz Baden-Württemberg (the Baden-Württemberg State Higher Education Act), this appointment requires a completed university degree, an excellent doctorate, and pedagogical aptitude, which has generally been proven through teaching experience. The professorship is a qualification position and we are thus searching for a young researcher with typically up to six years of experience.
