The position involves working within the research specialization Future Energy Center (FEC). The work is part of the research activities conducted in modelling and simulation, model-predictive control and robust optimization under the DISTRHEAT project at FEC. The focus on the project is on modeling hybridized energy systems (thermal) and developing advanced model predictive control approaches and robust optimization tools using adaptive physics-based and data-driven (machine learning) approaches.
A large part of the work will be done at - or in close contact with - several partner organizations. The successful candidate is therefore expected to have a good engineering background with profound skills in turbine diagnostics and related modelling tools and be able to interact effectively with partner research institutes, industry, colleagues and other stakeholders. The researcher is expected to take initiatives, develop own ideas and work independently, as well as take responsibility for the work. As the project interacts closely with other researchers and industrial partners, the applicant needs to have high collaborative skills.
The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
To qualify for the appointment as a researcher, you should have received a PhD and shown research and pedagogical skills within the subject area. Further reference is made to the Higher Education Ordinance section 4 and Appointments Procedure for teachers at Mälardalen University.
The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English.
