We are recruiting an experienced environmental specialist to develop our environmental assessment capability for chemicals. We require this expertise to assess the environmental hazards and risks of industrial and consumer chemicals (anything from ingredients in cleaning products to process chemicals) for the benefit of protecting the environment.
The Authority works closely with the Irish government and other European partners. You will have a unique opportunity to represent the Authority and Ireland at EU meetings, in particular at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki, and learn from other experts. So, if you enjoy evaluating scientific data and presenting your findings, and you want to develop your expertise this could be the job you have always dreamed of.
You will need to be educated to honours degree level in science with a good depth of experience in environmental evaluation. Experience in the production of scientific or regulatory reports is also essential. A post-graduate qualification or equivalent experience in ecotoxicology or environmental fate is desirable, along with a strong grasp of environmental risk management principles.
If you’re someone with practical environmental experience then why not make an application and open your career to the variety of opportunities that we can offer.
Closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm on Friday, 20th September 2019.
