The project focusses on Astrochemistry of protoplanetary discs atmospheres and their winds and is part of the DFG Research Unit FOR2634/1 “Planet Formation Witnesses and Probes: Transition Discs” lead by Prof. Ercolano at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University. Funding is secure for the first 15 months, a further 3 years of funding is likely, but conditional to the outcome of a prolongation proposal for this grant and to performance.
The initial appointment will be for 15 months, with the possibility of an extension. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics, or expect to obtain their Ph.D. in the near future.
Applicants would ideally be familiar with astrochemistry codes, experience of protoplanetary disc modelling would be of advantage, but it is not strictly required.
