We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a background in cellular neurophysiology for a postdoctoral position within the “Neuromodulation of Cortical and Subcortical Circuits” Research Line.
Expertise in ex-vivo neurophysiological techniques is a mandatory prerequisite. Previous experience with viral-based approaches to deconstruct and manipulate neuronal circuits, optogenetics and/or two photon imaging or in-vivo recordings will be highly valued.
The successful candidate will be working on collaborative and multidisciplinary research projects to investigate the functional interplay between dopaminergic and serotonergic neuronal activity, both in health and in Parkinson’s disease. To this purpose, she/he will apply neurophysiological, optogenetic and chemogenetic approaches, together with state-of-the art imaging techniques to monitor neuromodulatory signals at cellular and subcellular resolution alongside with behavioral analysis.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Physiology, Neuroscience or Physics and have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
