Conditions for the position:

  • pre-Bologna PhD degree from the area of civil engineering or current 3rd cycle Bologna PhD degree in mathematics;
  • valid habilitation title assistant professor/associate professor/full professor in Mathematics at the University of Ljubljana, or an equivalent title at a different institution. In the latter case, the contract can be signed either after the equivalence of the titles has been officially recognised, or after the guest professor title has been awarded to the candidate;
  • B2 knowledge of Slovenian according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), which is proven by a certificate. If a foreign national does not meet this requirement when occupying the position, they shall meet it no later than within three years after employment;
  • rhetorical and innovative skills, organisational abilities for own work and the work of co-workers;teamwork skills and skills of active work with students;
  • educational experience in the teaching of courses from the area of mathematics;
  • desired is an opus publications and proven interest for research work from the area of the use of mathematics in civil engineering and/or geodesy.

Short job description:

  • Designing and updating of curriculum and adaptation of university and higher education study programmes;
  • organization and co-organization of all activities relevant to the execution of study courses in accordance with curriculums and developments in the professional field, coordination of work and control over the work of other teaching staff (assistants, technical and other staff);
  • lectures for students, conduct of seminars and other pedagogical activities on the subject at undergraduate and post-graduate study programmes;
  • guidance of research work and other study activities of students and mentoring for students in their seminary papers, diploma theses and other work;
  • scientific research work, study and development of concepts, theories and methods;
  • care for safe and healthy work of the employees and students in the unit, for adequate education and instructions to users of personal protection equipment and other safety measures;
  • performing other tasks from the wider professional area of the job.
