Molecular Nanoengineering group at the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering, Aalto University (Finland) is looking for a motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join the group. The chosen candidates will carry out experimental interdisciplinary research on synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials, DNA nanotechnology and nanoplasmonics in a multidisciplinary and international environment with excellent instrumentation and facilities.
Your research will be focused on development of novel synthesis methods that enable transferring of high spatial accuracy of DNA origami technique into complex morphologies ofinorganic nanostructures. Furthermore, postdoctoral researchers are expected to propose his/her own research ideas and to be an active member of the group/department by taking part in project management duties and guiding M.Sc. and doctoral students. Teaching responsibilities will be decided according to the candidate’s interests and experience.
We are looking for outstanding candidates with a strong background and proven research track record in colloidal and inorganic nanomaterial synthesis. Previous experience in nanomicroscopy (AFM, TEM, SEM) DNA nanotechnology and plasmonics is an advantage.
The candidate should hold a PhD degree in chemical engineering, material science or equivalent. Furthermore, you should have good communication skills, good analytical and experimental skills and good ability to work independently toward the goals of your project. The position requires excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
