Light Conversion is looking for an Early Stage Researcher for the collaborative research project MUSIQ. The objective of the project is to develop femtosecond laser source for coherent nonlinear microscopy. The ESR will gain valuable experience in the development, testing and optimisation of a novel femtosecond laser source. The ESR will also gain experience in scanning microscope systems and merging it with wavelength tunable femtosecond ultrafast lasers. The ESR will enrol to a PhD degree programme at Cardiff University (under the co-supervision of Prof Paola Borri and Prof Wolfgang Langbein) while simultaneously be employed and working at Light Conversion. Cardiff University offers flexible conditions for PhD candidates employed by a company, which are aligned within the MUSIQ training programme.
The applicant should hold a master in physics/optical/electrical or bio-engineering and show a strong interest for biology and biomedical applications. Work experience with laser systems and scanning microscopes is an advantage.
