The Dröge-Laser lab offers a post-doc position at the University of Würzburg, Germany, preferentially with background knowledge on plant molecular biology or physiology. The applicant will be part of a small international team focussing on plant stress signalling, transcriptional control and pathogen defence.
In plants, nutrients like carbohydrates and amino acids need to be allocated between source and sink tissues to assure sufficient supply and survival. Particularly in response to energy limiting conditions, a tight co-ordination of energy homeostasis and nutrient allocation is required. This project focussed on the regulation of nutrient transport upon starvation, combining studies on transcriptional regulation and transporter physiology.
Genome editing by CRISPR/Cas9, promoter analyses in protoplasts, transcription factor binding assays, RNAseq, ChIPseq, confocal microscopy, metabolic analyses, transporter physiology.
