These posts will be part of the consortium for the H2020 project “High performance computing in wind energy” consisting of 12 academic and industrial partners coordinated by Dr. Xuerui Mao at the University of Nottingham.
The project offers a pioneering research in high performance computing and its application to key fluid mechanics problems in wind energy. The research will concentrate on the development of novel algorithms and codes related with reduced order modelling and large eddy simulations.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in the area of applied mathematics or fluid mechanics, with preference for fields related to numerical methods, adjoint based optimization, large eddy simulation and wind energy are highly desirable.
It is also expected that the candidate will demonstrate the Development of in-house programmes for computational fluid dynamics and Numerical simulations of fundamental fluid physics.
