“Computational and Chemical Biology” Research Line is looking for an experienced PhD level Scientist to head a new small research group devoted to the design, chemical synthesis and testing of innovative nucleic acid-based drugs.
Candidates’ areas of expertise should include short and long noncoding RNAs, siRNAs and antisense oligonucleotides.
The research activities in which the scientist will be particularly involved are the use of chemical epitranscriptome modifications and the therapeutics for neurodevelopment and neurodegenerative diseases. The scientist will be also responsible for managing the operation of an oligonucleotide synthesis facility and an analytical team working on purification and quality assessment of the oligonucleotide products. The scientist will take advantage of the highly competitive environment in molecular and cellular neurobiology as well as in molecular modeling and drug design which IIT can offer.
