The research engineer will work in the project "Sustainable IoT through co-design with organic batteries" funded by the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems (Vinnova). A team of communication and battery experts from Uppsala University designs hardware and communication protocols that manage the interaction between the dynamics of the (organic) battery chemistry and the dynamics of the IoT device's energy consumption. A key resource will be our battery testbed, a unique resource for large-scale, application-oriented measurements of battery performance.
The employment concerns measurements and evaluation of operational limits and relevant tradeoffs of batteries in the aforementioned project, maintenance and expansion of the battery testbed as well as design of communication protocols. Publication in collaboration with other project participants.
Master's degree or equivalent in Information Technology. In-depth knowledge of IoT communication protocols as well as documented experience from experimental evaluation of batteries and IoT communication protocols is a requirement. Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
