Bring your research expertise to important innovations within a significant research structure
AkzoNobel's business area Decorative Paints adds color to people's lives with a full range of interior and exterior decoration and protection products for the trade and consumer markets. As authorities on color we aim to provide all our customers - from professional decorators to DIY enthusiasts - with a great color experience and a fantastic finish. Our range includes paints, lacquers and varnishes, as well as products for surface preparation (pre-deco products). Decorative Paints operates an advanced and well-resourced R&D capability at Sassenheim in the Netherlands, staffed by a multinational and highly engaged team. This capability incorporates an Expertise Research Group (ERG) that develops new paint technology concepts for the global market.
ERG includes an Exterior Woodcare team that develops new technologies and solutions for our Woodcare businesses throughout the world. Woodcare products are mainly used to decorate and protect wood used on housing (cladding, doors and window frames) and in gardens (fences, decks). Our portfolio includes respected brands such as Sikkens, Pinotex, Cuprinol and Xyladecor.
Within this context, your mission in this role is to play a key role in project teams for the innovation of new Woodcare technologies (e.g. varnishes, wood stains, lacquers). In doing so you propose technical routes and opportunities for long-standing challenges based on your growing knowledge of Woodcare and the trade and consumer markets.
Is this a challenge that matches your profile as a creative and proactive team player who can help us develop and improve our coatings? Can you grow professionally so that you become an authority on Woodcare within AkzoNobel, without losing sight of the business/coating needs? Do you have the enthusiasm and vision to establish fertile cross-functional contacts with paint colleagues? Above all, can you make a real difference within our dynamic, multinational and multicultural business environment?
If you offer all this and more we invite you to apply for the role of Researcher Woodcare.

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:
