Within this context, your mission in this role is to contribute to customer-focused research within a result driven and cooperative team environment at VR's laboratory at Sassenheim in the Netherlands. The role and its responsibilities
Working in project teams from our research facility in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, you investigate new technologies based on literature, patents or your own ideas, formulating and presenting possible solution directions and issuing advice in order to optimize/improve ongoing projects.
At all times you align with project goals and timings, and it is important that investigations are linked to customer needs/market trends. Activities will often be performed in cooperation with other departments and locations. Thus you perform tests/analysis of paints with the Physical Analytical Lab, then coordinate production batches with the Scale-up Department.
Needless to say you work according to all QHSE guidelines. You also develop, coach and support technicians, and act as focal point in the laboratory for safety issues (lab steward).
To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:
- Master's degree in Chemistry of Chemical Engineering, or equivalent working and thinking level;
- Up to approximately three years of experience in a laboratory environment;
- Knowledge of polymer chemistry is an advantage;
- Strong communication and presentation skills including fluent written and spoken English.
